Hey everyone, and welcome to this week’s installment of TraQing News! We’re back in action after a brief break for the winter holidays! From tech-enhanced mattresses to Sears selling the Craftsman brand name, here are some of our favorite articles from last week to get you back into the swing of working:

Sleep Number’s smart bed adjusts to your nighttime fidgeting | Nick Summers: Dreaming of a perfect night’s sleep is getting a little bit easier. Mattress manufacturers are adding more and more smarts to help quantify your sleep, and use the data to make it better. This particular bed adjusts itself as you move around (and comes with a bonus foot warmer) to keep sleepers comfortable all night long.

You can turn this shower on from your bed | Patrick Holland: Now even the bathroom can have smart-tech. CES 2017 introduced a gadget to let you turn on a shower to your perfect temperature using your smartphone. Personally I’m most impressed with the water-saving features, such as pausing the water flow once you reach your ideal temperature, or placing a time limit on showers.

Stanley Black & Decker to by Craftsman | Ken Clark: In case you missed the announcement, Stanley Black & Decker has purchased the Craftsman brand name from Sears. According to some estimates, this could net Sears close to a billion dollars. It will also allow the Craftsman brand to be found in more stores as it spreads beyond Sears.
