Hey everyone, and welcome to this week’s installment of TraQing News! We’ve rounded up some content for you as you wind down your work week. From 2019’s grill trends to new consoles from Nintendo, here are some of our favorite articles from this week:
New Outdoor Grills for 2019: Small, Smart and Convenient | Karen Robinson-Jacobs: The temperature is warming up, and grills are ready to take the spotlight! At the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Expo in Dallas, TX, exhibitors were able to show off the latest models hitting the shelves. Some of the trends spotted included more smart features, eco-friendly designs, and smaller overall footprints, as more consumers have smaller living spaces.
The apocalypse is upon us: Wayfair is opening its first store | Mark Wilson: Direct-to-consumer startups are increasingly opening physical retail locations. The most recent company to join the fray is Wayfair, who is opening its first location in Massachusetts. With the vast array of products the company offers, it will be interesting to see how it builds out a cohesive storefront for consumers to peruse.
Nintendo could launch two new Switch consoles this year | Steve Dent: The Switch has been a real game-changer for Nintendo (no pun intended). And if rumors are to be believed, the company could be expanding the Switch’s reach with two new variants on the console. One would be more high-end, with specs designed to be more in line with what Sony and Microsoft offer with their consoles (though still not as powerful). The other would be a more budget-conscious console, and could possibly take the place of the DS handheld consoles.
